Abstract:
A last lower proboscidean molar from Dhok Pathan type locality has been described. After comparing with the known bunodont material, it is decided that it was a culminating species of a spur bearing bunodont stock, which descended from the Gomphotherium angustidens. A new species, G. dhokpathanesis, has been erected for the specimen under study.
