A note on the separation of empty and filled seed of silverfir, Abies pindrow.

Abstract:
To separate empty and filled seeds of silverfir, the method of blowing and floatation in butenol was used. It was found that blowing method partially separated filled and empty seeds of silverfir whereas butenol floatation method was more successful in separating filled and empty seeds. The butenol floatation method has no adverse effect on seed germination.
