Abstract:
Nineteen samples of barytes were collected from Hazara District and investigated for various industrial uses. Upgrading of these samples was done by froth floatation process followed by bleaching with sulphuric or hydrochloric acids. Results indicate that the barytes improve considerably on upgrading and are suitable for various uses with special reference to paints and petroleum industries. Snow white quality for use in paints have been successfully prepared.
