Abstract:
In the realm of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), numerous challenges abound, including unreliable data transmission, cost inefficiency, security vulnerabilities, and excessive energy consumption, intensified by deployment in harsh and unmonitored environments. Compounding these challenges, the rapid depletion of node energy due to void areas and uneven network distribution severely hampers overall network performance. In response, this paper introduces a novel blockchain-based trust model tailored to address these issues within WSNs. routing protocol is proposed to optimize communication between network nodes, mitigating void areas and enhancing connectivity with designated sink nodes. Additionally, to ensure transparency, all node transactions are immutably recorded in the blockchain. The integration of the Proof of Authority (PoA) consensus algorithm further enhances security and efficiency by validating and incorporating transactions into blocks. Furthermore, the adoption of a distributed platform, such as the interplanetary file system, offers reliable and cost-effective data storage solutions for WSNs.
