Abstract:
An experiment was conducted at Latif Experimental Farm, Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, to study the effect of nitrogen fertilizer on N, P and K concentrations and grain yield of corn. Four nitrogen levels viz. 0, 50, 100 and 150 kg/ha were applied in a complete randomized block design with four replications. Results of the research indicated that nitrogen fertilizer rates increased N,P and K concentrations in the leaves of corn plants. The highest concentrations were with highest level of 150 kg/ha. The correlation coefficients among nitrogen rates and NPK concentrations were highly significant. Yield of corn was significantly increased with increased in nitrogen levels. The highest increase in grain yield was with highest level of 150 N kg/ha. The correlation coefficient was also highly significant.
