Abstract:
Roots of Melia azedarach Linn. were found heavily infected with vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae (VAM). General VAM and external fungal infections were 100% and 90% respectively. The incidence of vesicular infection was recorded to be the lowest (20%) and that of arbuscular the highest (100%) among the root samples studied. Vesicles of different shapes, sizes and contents indicated the presence of multiple VAM infections.
