Abstract:
Load fluctuations and waste heat problems in steam based installations are receiving more attention due to fuel crises and optimization trends in engineering and thermal energy storage techniques are being developed and modernized which provide quite satisfactory solutions. Two types of accumulators have been described and compared. Also their typical applications in steam based industrial units and power stations have been shown for eliminating shortage of steam, balancing fluctuations, recovering waste heat and adjusting heat and power requirements for combined plants.
