Abstract:
A total of 4 species of termites, Odontotermes guptai, Microtermes obesi, M. mycophagus and Eremotermes paradoxalis were recorded from sugarcane field in Gojra, Pakistan. Maximum termite population (269.1/m2) was found in May, 1988 when atmospheric temperature and relative humidity were 30% and 64%, respectively. Maximum damage (11.8%) was recorded when the crop was reaching maturity. Coefficient of correlation between height of plant and percentage damage was positive and significant (P). A total of 34.5% damage was recorded to the crop by termites.
