Abstract:

A method for the quantitative separation of metal ions as their 8-hydroxyqu1noline chelates by thin layer chromatography is described. Mass transfer concentration is equated in terms of separated spot areas to quantify the metal concentration of each constituent. The method is simple, easy and gives reproducible results without the use of any expensive instrument.
