Adsorption of amines from binary solution on SiO2.

Abstract:
The excess adsorption isotherms of amines from binary solutions in ethanol, methanol and water were studied on Si02 surfaces in the temperature range 293-308 K. The adsorption data was analyzed in terms of both the Everett and Langmuir equations. The observed value of AH° showed the endothermic nature of adsorption and the existence of a hydrogen bond between the adsorbent and amine molecule.
