Abstract:
The Viscosities of sodium tartarate solutions in aqueous acidic methanol (10-50% mixtures) were measured for various concentrations (0.01-0.05 mol.dm-3 ) at different temperatures i.e., 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45°C. The viscosity data were analysed in terms of ion-solvent interactions. It was found that 'A' and 'B' coefficients of Jone-Dole equation varied with the concentration of salt solutions as well as methanol-water mixtures composition. The positive values of 'B' coefficient lead to the conclusion that sodium tartarate behaves as a structure breaker.
