Abstract:
Urea concentration and contents of medulla and cortex of rat's kidney were studied during water diuresis and during water diuresis interrupted by Lysine-8-vasopressin (anti-diuretic hormone, ADH). Urea content rises progressively from the outer medulla to the tip of the paipila. In drug-treated animals, the increase in urea content between the outer medulla and the base of the papilla is steeper than in any other segment of the kidney.
