Abstract:
Distribution pattern of soyabean oil fatty acids through urea complex fractionation has indicated their smooth separation from each other. The systematic attempts at such separation processes resulted in the purification of oleic and linoleic acids and their esters. The saturates and linoleic acid were isolated in the concentrated states depending on the various treatments used. The bulk processes facilitated isolation of each fatty acid in larger quantities. The ingenious approach towards urea-complex fractionation at each step in the separation of the respective fatty acid, depending on its trends of complex formation, yielded remarkably successful results in its preparation in the pure form. Characteristics of soyabean oil, fractionation of its fatty acids and analysis of different fractions are tabulated.
