Tuberculosis among the industrial workers.

Abstract:
Prevalence of tuberculosis was about 2.5% amongst workers. Incidence of new patients among workers is 2.6 per 1000 in 1981 & 1982 and 1.9 per 1000 in 1983 & 1984. Number of male patients registered being more than female patients ratio being 2:1. Pulmonary tuberculosis was more common amongst workers themselves than their dependents. Extrapulmonary infection (mostly Lymph Adenitis) was more frequent in dependents than in workers. Sputum was positive for AFB by Smear Examination in 12% patients.
