Abstract:
Menorrhagia can occur at any stage of reproductive phase of life but, is commonly found in the women aged over 35 years. There is a long list of causes. The Unani system offers treatment with herbal/mineral drugs, which act on the uterus, its arteries and ovaries, thus curing it without any side-effects. Drugs which are astringent, uterine tonics, concoctives etc. are given for its treatment. Once the patient gets relief of the debilitating symptom-menorrhagia, she does not require undergoing surgical operations like hysterectomy or oophorectomy.
