Abstract:
Removal of organic pollutants from refinery wastewater studied by adsorption using MOFs, prepared from various metals and organic ligands. MOFs based on ammonium molybdate, sodium tungstate, and various ligands oxalic acid, benzoic acid, and imidazole were prepared in the laboratory by solvothermal method. The MOFs were characterized by analytical techniques XRD, EDX, FTIR, and SEM. Out of different MOFs AM-I showed maximum removal of % COD from model wastewater. The optimum parameters were pH 5, temperature 20 oC, time 20 min, and absorbent dose 0.05 g. The process can be potentially used for industrial application.
