A model based study of suppliers’ role assessment to quality improvement in cotton spinning industry.

Abstract:
This paper is originated from the concept that quality is every one’s responsibility, the theory claims and promises that the process will deliver quality products or services through committed and passionate contribution by all the process stakeholders. It is recognized that supplier, a key contributor to process quality, can play a significant role in client organizations efforts to achieve, maintain and deliver quality at market place. Cotton spinning industry has a large number of suppliers and quality they forward to the industry ultimately defines the end product quality. Strong mutual contribution by the host organization and the suppliers returns both in terms of monetary and better reputation in competitive market and offer a win-win scenario to all the parties involved in business. A detailed scientific analysis was accomplished on the survey data. Moreover, a model for supplier quality improvement is proposed. Results of study indicate that supplier relation management is strongly associated with profitability, rejection rate, and market share and over all quality improvement of organization.
