Abstract:

This article presents design, development, simulation & analysis of a firing scheme for a SCR based 220V AC to DC converter. The pulsating DC output obtained is controllable from zero volts to the maximum peak voltage. The functioning of all the major modules are presented followed by a comprehensive analysis at different nodes is shown. The circuit was built on ORCAD™ while the simulations and test results were performed on PSPICE™.
