Abstract:
About  one third of the world’s population is believed to be infected with tuberculosis with the vast majority being in the developing world. However in the developed countries, the incidence of this disease has been steadily increasing. Tuberculosis is very common in the Indian subcontinent, but at the same time tuberculous infection of the skull is rare and very few cases have been reported. We report a case who presented with a swelling of the frontal bone in the midline. X-ray skull revealed osteomyetitic changes in frontalbone. Contrast CT scan brain was performed, which showed osteomyelitis of the frontal bone alongwith bifrontal extradural lesion taking unhomogenenous enhancement. Osteomyelitic bone with extradural granulation tissue was removed Histopathology of bone revealed tuberculous osteomyelitis and granulation tissue also comprised of typical granuomatous lesion. Post operative recovery was good with antituberculous treatment .
