Access and benefit sharing (ABS) of biological diversity.

Abstract:
All the diverse forms of life present today on earth have been originated from single, very simple organism. Each and every form of life has its own importance in itself and is beneficial for others as well. Man being the animal with the largest brain leant to utilize this biodiversity for his worth. Therefore there is need to extract benefits from them and not to harm then in their place (plants) or habitat (animal) and also preserve them for the future generation through sustainable use. Each and every person should have access to these resources and or share of benefits raised by them, especially the natives and not only the government. Here access and benefit sharing under the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and Pakistan’s Draft Law in this regard is discussed in this article.
