Numerical simulation of flow around an axisymmetric blunt body by steger and warming flux vector splitting scheme.

Abstract:
In this paper the solution of two-dimensional Navier stokes equation by explicit formulation is presented. The discretization scheme utilized is Steger and Warmirrg flux. vector splitting for development of explicit scheme. The computations are performed over an axisymmetric blunt body. The simulations were performed with both first and second order flux vector splitting scheme. A fourth order damping term is, added in the second order formulation to reduce the dispersion error. The flow field under imposed conditions remains laminar. The,results are compared with the published data. The computational results compare well with the published data.
