Abstract:
This paper is concerned with an assessment of urea DeNOx at high temperatures and with the reactor geometries which would enable longer mixing and reaction times to simulate power plant conditions mores closely. It includes a systematic investigation of parameters that affect the performance of aqueous urea DeNOx in power plants such as carrier gas pressure, concentration of urea solution, geometry of reaction chamber and residence time. The CFD study of the experimental setup was conducted to access the process hydrodynamics and turbulent chemistry interaction for engineering judgment of the process. The results show a good agreement with the theoretical values except for the NOx which is over predicted due to elevated temperature prediction.
