Abstract:
An experiment was designed to study the effects of transplantation of one, two and three weeks old seedlings and direct seeding of sunflower cultivar Sunbred-212. Sowing was done on dry, wet and moist seedbeds in February and March. Number of filled groins, empty grains per plant, empty filled seed ratio were significantly affected by time of sowing, however, yield per plant was not significantly affected by time of sowing. The effects of transplantation and direct seeding were significant on all the characters studied. However, condition of seedbed had no significant effect on any of the above characters.
