Abstract:
The design of a two blade rotor for a 10 KW windmill is presented. The estimated value of the rotor radius is 3.8 m and the tip-speed ratio is 9. The cord and the blade setting angles along the length of the blade have been calculated for ideal blade geometry. The linearization has also been done to avoid the design complications. It is possible to fabricate the blade from 10% arched steel plate with constant lift coefficient and fixed pitch using locally available resources.
