Abstract:
The morphogenesis of abnormal growths in papaya trees defected with virus reveals accelerated growth beyond the control of the plant. Thus, a male flower arises on the leaf, quite an unusual place for it. The male flower is transformed into a female, also unnatural. And female flower is forced to develop into a fruit so fast that the resultant becomes a flower-cum-fruit, but sterile or seedless.
