Abstract:

Two species of sea-weeds, Hypnea muciformis and Caulerpa taxifolia, belonging to the classes of red and green algae respectively were selected for studying their morphology and biochemical composition. Nutrients-carbohydrates, protein, vitamin 'C' and inorganic elements-Na+, K+, Cu and Fe contents were determined and have been reported here.
