Abstract:
First order differential equations in which some variables have response times very slow or very fast on the time scale of the overall behavior of a system, are by definition stiff. Equations having this property arise in a variety of applications particularly chemical kinetics where very reactive intermediate species are produced. Alkoxy radicals produced in atmosphere are one of the examples for such intermediates. This paper describes application of gear program to 2-pentoxy radical reaction scheme in an inert and or oxygen atmosphere with end product simulations. The rate constants are adjusted to experimental end products concentrations accordingly.
