Abstract:
In every industry, manual processes are transitioning to software technology. With rapid technological advancements, software development organizations are compelled to continually update and enhance their development processes. Agile practices in software programming emphasize client satisfaction and adaptability to change. Retrospective practices play a crucial role in process improvement within Agile software development, fostering greater collaboration among team members. Through retrospective practices, challenges and issues within the development process are identified, leading to the implementation of appropriate solutions. Team velocity is managed based on the progress of previous sprints. While retrospective practices may initially pose challenges for new teams, typically taking 3-5 meetings to fully adopt, they are instrumental in fostering a mindset conducive to productive retrospective meetings. A case study was conducted to assess the adoption of retrospective practices within the Pakistani software industry. The findings reveal that while retrospective practices are indeed utilized for process improvement, they yield both positive and negative impacts on software quality and team enhancement. Pakistani software teams implement a variety of retrospective practices tailored to meet specific software quality requirements, with overall satisfaction among team members regarding the practices employed within their respective teams.
