The effects of chronic morphine treatment on dopamine activity as measured by electrically induced rotational behaviour were studied. The chronic morphine treatment decreased rotations, whereas withdrawal of morphine returned rotations to baseline. The investigations suggest that morphine inhibits DA induced activity.
