Abstract:
P-Sulphobenzene diazonium sulphate (50 mg.), dissolved in N/10 hydrochloric acid is employed for the estimation of serum Bilirubin. The colour develops within 5 minutes. Dilution of the reaction mixture to an appropriate volume forms a clear pink colour which is determined on a spectrophotometer at 520 mg. The method works both on macro and micro scales, is rapid and does not require precipitation of proteins. Hormones are biochemical substances secreted within the body of pituitary, adrenals, pancreas & testes/ovaries controlling vital functions of growth and reproduction. A disequilibrium in the endocrine glandular system can shatter human personality often producing freaks of nature. Hormones and their derivatives manufactured in laboratories are being used in the treatment of many allergic symptoms. Further researches on the properties and effects of hormones are giving us deep insight into man's behaviour pattern in society.
