Abstract:
Two species of Acanthocephala, Neoechinorhynchus kashmirensis and Pomphorynchus kashmirensis were found in the intestine of a piscine host, Schizothorax plagiostomus from Kashmir, India. This is the first recorded infection of two different acanthocephalan species in the same piscine host. Both light optics and electron optics depicted the presence of the worms and their effect on the fish host. Multiple parasite infections are reviewed.
