Abstract:
Experiments were carried out to study the effect of crop sequences and their intensities on the yield of sugarcane at Mardan. Maize-wheat-sugarcane (1st ratoon), sugarcane (2nd ratoon) ratoon gave 9 crops of cane in 12 years experiment with yield of 635.6 mds. per acre per crop. Though the yield per acre per crop is not high but it resulted in high income followed by monoculture system of farming. Inclusion of legume in 4 year rotation did not manifest in the increase of total productivity of the land. It has resulted in higher production in crops immediately following it. Tables in support of data have been provided.
