Abstract:
The temperature dependence studies for the determination of pKa values of boric acid and ascorbic acid in water at 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 °C and in 10, 20, 30, and 40% v/v dioxane-water, methanol-water and ethanol-water at 25°C have been carried out. The influence of temperature, solvents and solvent composition on pKa values of these substances has been investigated by potentiometric method. The experimental data have been analyzed by using a computer program written in GW-BASIC language. A significant effect of temperature, solvent and solvent composition on pKa values of these substances has been observed.
