EFL learners` speaking skill were measured by a speaking achievement test (pre-posttest). The results indicated that role-play strategy was effective in enhancing EFL learners` (experimental group) speaking ability. The study recommended that the use of role-play strategy can be very effective in teaching English in colleges and schools, especially with practical subjects. Using role-play strategy enable learners to cope with anxiety, fear, doubts, before facing future real – life nursing care situations and using role-play in class made learners more engaged with the lesson, negotiate with each other and help each other than they are in a traditional lecture.
