Abstract:
Adsorption of Zn2+ and Ni2+ ions on ferric hydroxide was measured as a function of absorsent and backgound electrolyte concentration, at constant initial pH and temperature. The adsorption behaviour in each case was of the Freundlich type. The extent of absorption was found to be increasing with the increase in the adsorbent concentration. The aTnity Towards the hydroxide surface was found to be in the order Zn > Ni +. In both cases more adsorption was observed from O.IM electrolyte concentration.
