Abstract:
According to World Health Organization, less than 10% of the amount donated for research is utilized for 90% of the health problems; it aims towards the correction of this 10/90 gap through its different fora. Pakistan lags behind in research with very limited allocation of funds and its subsequent under utilization which leads to persistence of serious but preventable health problems. This special communication describes a model project related to anthropological research which was instrumental in bringing forth beneficial results through anthropological techniques and proper utilization of research funds. If replicated countrywide, this may bring a positive change in the country s gloomy health scenario
