Abstract:
Monolayer equivalent areas (surface areas) by adsorption of krypton at 77K have been studied of partially and fully dehydrated Na A, ColA, Co1. 7A, Co2. 8A, Co3. 4A and Co4AA-zeolites. The surface areas obtained by point B method were higher than from B.E.T. plots. The NaA and Col A, (16. 6% exchange) showed the same areas. Rapid increase in surface areas was observed for other zeolites investigated. The Co4. 9A (81% exchange) indicated the decrease in surface area, likely, due to partial collapse of the structure. The low temperature adsorption of krypton also indicated the location sites for the cations in the dehydrated zeolites.
