Abstract:

Reduction of barytes to barium sulphide using Sui (natural) gas (96% methane) with different catalysts, temperatures and reaction time has been studied. Use of Fe2O3, CuO and FeSO4 as catalysts at 950°C for four hours gives more than 90% reduction.
