Abstract:
The present study was done to observe the VAM status of plant of wet and waterlogged habitats and to explore the VAM fungal flora of District Kohat. Seven plants Phragmites austrails (Cav.). Acacia nilotica (Linn.) Xanthuimstrumarium (L.) Conyza Canadensis (L.) Brachiaria eruciformis (J. E. Sm). Plantago major (Linn.) and Abutilon fruiticosum (Guill.) showed variations in the percentage of general VAM infection. Maximum general VAM infection (100%) were recorded in Phragmites australis and Brachiaria eruciformis, while remaining plants showed (12-28%) general VAM infection, while Abutilon fruiticosum showed no VAM infection. Four genera of endogonaceae Glomus Gigaspora, Aculospora, Sclerocystis and were present in abundance in the soil.
