Abstract:
By and large, every heavy drinker is an alcoholic but an alcohol addict is one who has lost control over his drinking and has a compulsion to keep on drinking with resultant deterioration of emotional, social and work activities. Various types of alcohol and drug addiction, their aetiology and treatment have been given. It is suggested that all narcotic addicts should properly be registered and receive their supplies from a special clinic.
