Abstract:
Cassia sophera Linn. Var. purpurea Roxb., commonly known as Kasondi is an important drug of Unani Medicine. It has been described to be hepatoprotective and widely used by the physicians of Unani medicine in the treatment of various liver disorders. In this paper studies carried out to determine the macroscopic, microscopic, ash values, extractive values. Fluorescence analysis and thin layer chromatographic parameters are reported, which were performed to standardize the leaf and seed of the plant for its purity.
