Abstract:
Leaf anatomical characteristics are extremely malleable and vary across wide geographical regions, but their primary determinants remain unknown. Field area sampling and semi-thin sectioning of plant, these procedures were used in this work to quantify various anatomical qualities (including mesophyll traits and vascular traits, leaf midrib and leaf epidermis) in different plant species from forests in Punjab Pakistan. The conclusions revealed that leaf anatomical features differed significantly across functional type of plant species, while evolution had little influence on that species. Leaf anatomical features demonstrated strong geographical patterns, with the thickness of leaf tissues increasing from boreal to tropical forests. Plant functional type alterations influenced the majority of the geographic variance in leaf morphological features, with climate and soil nutrient availability having only a little impact. These outcomes imply that leaf structural features coordination may reproduce plant source trade-off and consumption methods, that increase our knowledge about plant reactions and adaptive methods to geographical variations. This study looked at the variation and drivers of leaf morphological features in different plant species from different forest habitats. The findings revealed that leaf anatomical features varied greatly between species, plant functions, and biomes. Evergreen trees had bigger leaf anatomical qualities, whereas herbs and shrubs had smaller leaf traits in response to anatomy. In regional patterns, the anatomical attributes of leaf interconnected to photosynthetic capability and hydraulic transportation were similar and more significant than the geographic arrangements of vascular traits and leaf midrib. Overall, understanding the difference and causes of leaf structural traits from boreal toward steamy tropical forestland can provide insights into how plants adapt to their environments and respond to global change. These results may offer further light on the plasticity of leaf morphological characteristics as well as plant adaption mechanisms to environmental changes
