Abstract:
A field experiment was conducted to determine avoidable grain yield loss due to infestation by Tylenchorhynchus vulgaris on maize during 1995-96 through 1999. Pooled results indicated that application of carbofuran @ 2 kg/ha incurred 40.05, 44.11, 45.25 and 35.03, 36.15, 29.89% loss in grain, fodder, stover yields on maize cvs. Farm Sameri and Gujarat Maize 1 respectively over untreated control at initial population of 2225 nematodes/200 g soil.
