Abstract:
This paper describes the possible relationship between the progesterone and the concentration of blood glucose levels in women of Quetta city (capital of Balochistan). Using the rapid strip method, fresh fingertip blood samples were obtained from the women of Quetta city. The blood glucose level found to be 130.0mg/dl (mean) and after increasing the progesterone level in women it increased by an amount 2-9mg and concentration of blood glucose level was found to be 139.5mg/dl (median) respectively. Results show that with the increase of the progesterone hormone in the body the blood glucose level also increases due to the production of the insulin depressor steroid glucose level also increases due to the production of the insulin depressor steroid hormone progesterone.
