Abstract:
Allopathic method of treatment is considered as the accepted way of cure in the world today and most people prefer this treatment for early cure, but the hazards attendant with this system have been ignored. Allopathic medicines are analogous to natural drugs and they do provide timely cure to ailments, but the adverse after effects persist for long and even continue in the progeny. Hazards resulting from the use of such drugs are increasing and cases of abortion, dead babies and of those born deformed are the corollary of the excessive use of allopathic and synthetic medicines. The author recommends to reinvestigate old methods of treatment, particularly with medicinal plants. Modern methods of extraction of active principles by evaluating them pharmacologically can be feasibly carried out. Recommends that research should be directed in tackling natural products. Certain plants richly found in Pakistan and elsewhere are cited for utilization.
