A study of nuclear properties with velocity dependent two body interactions.

Abstract:
Attempt is made to explain saturation properties of the nuclei by introducing a velocity dependent two body potential of the form Vo and binding energies per particle of an infinite nucleus, single particle energies and effective mass of the nucleons in motion are calculated in the first order perturbation theory using this potential. Fair agreement with the empirical values are obtained with µ=0.857x1013 cm-1 , Vo=-51 Mev. and λ = 0.243.
