Abstract:
The study was conducted to see the effect of feeding sodium bicarbonate on milk yield and its composition in lactating buffaloes. The experimental animals were randomly divided into two groups "A" and "B". Concentrate ration fed to both groups, constituted 50% cotton seed cake and 50% wheat bran. Sodium bicarbonate was added to the concentrate ration of animals in group A at a level of 1.5%. There were no significant difference in the milk yield, 4% fat corrected milk, TS, and SNF contents of the milk produced by the buffaloes under study.
