Vertical and horizontal distribution of nematodes associated with sapodilla (Achras zapota) in Karachi.

Abstract:
Distribution of stylet-bearing nematodes associated with sapodilla (Achras zapota) was found correlated with roots of the host plant. Hemicriconemoides mangiferae was found concentrated at a depth of 9-18 in. 22. 8-45.7 cm) and upto a horizontal distance of 18 in. (45.7 cm) from the tree trunk Psilenchus hilarulus and other non-stylet-bearing forms were common in upper zones where few or no roots were present.
