Abstract:
The effect of the different concentrations of 2:4-D, naphthalene acetic acid (NNA), and gibberellic acid (GA) on fruit drop in the Sindhri variety of mango was studied during 1962-63 and 1963-64. 2:4-D and NNA were used at 10,20 and 30 ppm concentrations while the concentrations of GA were 25,50 and 75 ppm. The application of these chemicals did not show any significant effect on the control in the pre-harvest drop in the Sindhri variety; although there was a slight decrease in fruit drop by the application of 2:4-D both at 10 as well as 30 ppm. Further investigations have been suggested for deriving further conclusions.
