Abstract:
The problems and difficulties faced in the sample census of Agriculture held in Pakistan in 1960 are discussed briefly and suggestions are given to overcome the difficulties for the next census. An account is given for the cultivated area, owner and tenant farms and the cultivation percentage of farm areas. The sizes of the farms, individual and joint farms and farm families along with their tenure are mentioned. The total cropped area with percentage of wheat, rice, cotton and sugar-cane acreage, the number of iron ploughs per cropped area, varieties of manures, work and milch animals, cattle and buffaloes are discussed briefly. The farms reported under debt and the amount advanced with the percentage are also mentioned.
